We are searching for a methodical and strategic Research & Grants Associate to work with our organization in enhancing funding models, identifying new sources of funding, and developing sustainable and effective grants programs. He/She will support the Research and Grants department for research, planning, and implementing new programs and protocols into the organization and overseeing the development of new projects.

Duties will include supporting the Director to manage all research and grant efforts, documenting payments and expenditure, optimizing the grant administration process, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, managing grant databases, engaging with donor agencies, educating staff on policies, and preparing financial reports. Your skills and expertise will aid our organization in serving the public by securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and executing meaningful projects.

The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, and exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The outstanding Research & Grants Associate should work with the Director to reinforce relationships with donors, ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, streamline grant administration, and keep our organization fiscally sound.


● Managing and supporting the research and grants department and implementation of programs for the organization in areas relating to humanitarian intervention, social innovation and development.
● Identify and develop strategies to optimize the research and grants administration process.
● Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
● Directly involved in grant writing by coordinating with grant writers or coordinators.
● Research for effective and authentic funding opportunities having a lawful registration and proven track record.
● Oversee the Research and Training Institute’s programs design and implementation.
● Supervise the fund-raising team to ensure proper coordination of work.
● Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.

Educational Requirements and Experience

The job requirements for the Finance and Operations position requires a minimum of a BSc in the following areas and relevant work experience 3-5 years. A keen interest in IT and emerging technologies will be an advantage: i) Business Development (ii) Economics or Finance (iii) Marketing.
Candidates with MSc/MBA and/or professional accreditations with relevant bodies will be at an advantage.

Required Experience

● 3-5 years experience managing finances in a corporate or non-profit setting.
● Experience reporting on multiple grants, including restricted as well as unrestricted funding.
● Proficient in non-profit GAAP accounting, budgeting and accounting experience.
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or Accounting.
● Methodical and strategic thinking.
● Good communication skills and project management skills.
● Excellent organizational skills.
● Computer literacy.
● Knowledge of auditing policies.
